Information for Authors

Submission Guidelines

Authors should review the Guidelines for Authors before submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Computing Applications (JAICA). The guidelines provide detailed information on manuscript preparation, formatting, article categories, peer review, publication ethics, originality requirements, licensing, and post-acceptance procedures.

Template and Formatting

Submissions must be prepared according to the journal's official LaTeX / Overleaf template to ensure consistency across published articles. Manuscripts that do not follow the journal's formatting requirements may be returned to the authors before editorial evaluation.

Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English. Authors are responsible for ensuring the linguistic quality of their submissions before submitting them for editorial consideration.

Originality

Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration by another journal, conference proceedings, book, repository-based formal publication venue, or editorial outlet at the same time.

JAICA may use similarity detection tools and editorial review procedures to verify the originality of submitted manuscripts.

Double-Blind Peer Review

JAICA uses a double-blind peer-review process. Authors' identities are not disclosed to reviewers, and reviewers' identities are not disclosed to authors.

All manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial team to verify thematic relevance, compliance with the journal's guidelines, originality, ethical suitability, and readiness for peer review. Manuscripts that pass this initial screening are assigned to expert reviewers in the corresponding field.

Review Criteria

Reviewers may evaluate manuscripts according to criteria such as originality, relevance, clarity, methodological soundness, technical quality, structure, adequacy of references, contribution to the field, and compliance with ethical and editorial standards.

Decision Notification

Based on the reviewers' reports and the editorial assessment, the decision may be:

• Accept.
• Accept with minor revisions.
• Major revisions required.
• Resubmit for a new round of review.
• Reject.

Authors will be informed of the editorial decision and, when applicable, will receive reviewer comments and recommendations.

Revisions

If revisions are required, authors must submit a revised manuscript and a response explaining how each reviewer comment was addressed. Revised manuscripts may be evaluated by the editorial team or sent to reviewers for an additional round of review.

Source Files and Final Materials

Upon acceptance, authors must provide the final LaTeX source files, bibliography files, figures, tables, and any additional materials required for copyediting, layout, and publication.

Proofs and Publication

Authors may receive proofs for final review before publication. Authors are responsible for carefully checking proofs and responding within the requested timeframe.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work. JAICA publishes accepted articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows the dissemination and reuse of published work in accordance with the terms of the license.

License information should be clearly displayed in the published article whenever possible.

Ethical Standards

Authors must adhere to high ethical standards in research and publishing. Submissions must not contain plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate authorship, manipulated citations, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or misleading use of artificial intelligence tools.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, academic, or professional relationship that could influence or be perceived to influence the submitted work.

Funding Statement

Authors must disclose all sources of funding, sponsorship, or institutional support related to the research. If the work did not receive specific funding, authors should state this explicitly.

Data Availability

When applicable, authors are encouraged to provide a data availability statement indicating where supporting data, code, software, protocols, or research materials can be accessed, or explaining why they are not publicly available.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors must disclose any substantive use of artificial intelligence tools in the preparation of manuscripts, including the tool used, the purpose of use, and the scope of its contribution. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors.

Undisclosed, misleading, or inappropriate use of artificial intelligence tools may be treated as an editorial or ethical concern.

Promotion

Authors are encouraged to share and promote their published work through academic and professional networks, institutional repositories, personal academic websites, and other non-commercial scholarly platforms, in accordance with the journal's licensing and self-archiving policies.

Indexing and Discoverability

JAICA seeks to strengthen the visibility, accessibility, and discoverability of its published contents through appropriate metadata, open access practices, and editorial standards. Information about current indexing, directories, or databases will be reported publicly on the journal website when applicable and verifiable.
